After being leaked earlier this week Sony has now confirmed the existence of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut.
The new version of the game will release on August 20th for PS4 and PS5. It will include a brand new story expansion that takes place on Iki island which was also invaded by Mongols. This island will have new environments to explore, new armour, new mini games, new techniques, new enemies, and most importantly, new animals. The new island will also bring new trophies.
Those playing the Director’s Cut on PS5 will also get a new Japanese lip sync option, thanks to the PS5 being capable of rendering cinematics in real time. The game will also get haptic feedback enhancements, 3D audio as well as drastically improved load times and an improved resolution and frame rate.
Ghost of Tsushima Legends will also be getting new updates including a brand new mode, with more information to come on that at a later date.
If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, you can upgrade to the Director’s Cut on PS4 for $20 USD (roughly $25 AUD). If you’re wanting to upgrade to the PS5 version of the Director’s Cut, you’ll be paying $30 USD (roughly $40 AUD). If you buy the PS4 version of the Director’s Cut you can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10 USD (roughly $12) AUD)
